Our hotel got a makeover !

When we bought Les Remparts hotel in 2019, the first thing to catch our attention was its central location in Sarlat, making it possible to explore the city by foot. However, we realised we’d have to heavily update its decoration, which wasn’t in line with current tastes.

When we bought Les Remparts hotel in 2019, the first thing to catch our attention was its central location in Sarlat, making it possible to explore the city by foot. However, we realised we’d have to heavily update its decoration, which wasn’t in line with current tastes !

We were baffled to notice that old stones buildings’ decoration was more often than not quite dated. We then decided to make the interior modern and authentic at the same time, the contrasting effects creating a balanced harmony.

Rethink the hotel from a modern point of view

SInce we wanted to keep this place’s authenticity as much as possible, we decided to keep the existing layout: same rooms, same hallways, same lift. We only modified the communal spaces on the ground floor in order to make them more functional and welcoming. However, we entirely remade the decoration : with the help of studiomd2, we chose modern, warm and practical furniture. We wanted our clients to be comfortable, and that their room would answer to their needs.

This is why we also designed different rooms categories, so they could adapt to all kinds of needs: family-friendly rooms, romantic ones, low-cost rooms for small budgets… Our hotel can cater to the needs of all kind of clients.

A few months of renovations

To tell the truth, renovation work is always tiring: when you put down a wall or remake a bathroom, you never know what you’ll find. We had to be present as regularly as we could, to take decisions when facing these surprises.

The timeline was also complicated to manage, as the hotel had to be completely renovated during the off season, from november to march, but we did it, and were happy to launch our brand new establishment in april 2020.

A new name for a new hotel

Since we wanted to start from scratch, we also chose a new name for the hotel. We wanted it to be to the image of the owner’s smile and hospitability, and having its name inspired from her seemed fitting. Since the owner’s name is Nadège, we went for NAÂD as the hotel name, another touch of modernity.

We also made a new logo, website and communication with the help of Juliecrea, Rédactographe, Elodie Berger and Synerpac.

Now, the hotel’s story can begin. Let’s wish it to be a long one!
